The planning process begins with you and your wishes for your family. My first concern is you and your family. My job is to help make sure that your plans for your loved ones come true.

My practice is limited to helping individuals and families plan their estates. I do this by meeting with you to discuss your family situation and how best to pass your assets on to your loved ones.

Why I make house-calls.

I came from a large family. I remember how much work it was for my mom to load all of us into the station wagon when it was time to visit the doctor. I always thought it would have made more sense for the doctor to hop in his car and come to our house.

With this in mind, I meet with my clients in their homes. Many families have told me that my coming to them makes life easier particularly when a member of the family is elderly or has special needs. It is much easier and it makes more sense for me to hop in my car… well you get the idea.

My office is at the Southwest corner of Chicago in the Beverly area. I do not expect you to come here. I am available to meet with you in your home. I look forward to meeting you and I will be happy to talk with you about your particular situation.

Who should be my Power of Attorney Agent?
When people say the words power of attorney they usually mean a power of attorney for property or financial power of attorney. There is also a medical power of attorney or a power of attorney for healthcare, but usually when they say power of attorney they mean a financial or property power of attorney. You should name someone who is number one going to do what you want, someone who understands what it is you want who will follow what you have told them so talk with them about what you want.
Also it should be somebody who has some financial ability and isn’t easily distracted by our complex world. If they don’t know a lot about investing they should be willing to ask for help, they should be willing to talk to a professional money manager or financial advisor to get some ideas of how they should handle your money so they don’t have to be a CPA or financial advisor themselves, they just have to be willing to take suggestions and advice from someone who really knows. If you have a son or a daughter who is a CPA they’d be perfect, but not everybody has those people in their family. I don’t so I would expect that my children or my spouse or my son or daughter whoever would be willing to talk with financial advisors and get some advice; so an open mind, willing to take advice and yet willing to follow what you want are pretty key important things.
