The officers rarely get fired because their union – the fraternal order of police – gets em reinstated.
Some officers have caused the city to pay over 3 million dollars to victims on account their violent behavior. Yet their still on the job b/c their union is so powerful.

Nice piece of inflated grandstanding by the way, showing the MX large animal taser at the beginning, which isn’t what police, or the officer in the clip, used. He was using an X26 police model taser, you can tell by the grip. Take a good look at how it is held in his hand. The grips are very different on the two models.

To me, looks as though the officer went to the taser a bit quick, but the driver also had quite a bit of an attitude toward the officer. You have to remember, that there is no such thing as a ‘routine’ traffic stop. Officers never know if they could get hit by another vehicle or if a nice calm driver could suddenly whip out a gun and try to kill him, so they can be pretty tense when walking up to a car.

@rodrma The officer shouldn’t have even wasted time pulling over a guy for going 5 over in the first place. The officer comes up and asks for the usual. The guy uses his right to know charges against him and asks what he was pulled over for. He starts to yell at the guy and the guy says to let him get it. Then the officer breaks the law by opening his door, pulling him out, and tasering him without warrant. Taser: made for defense, not cop torture.
