what do ya’ think ? where will these players end up ?
for me:
1)LeBron James – Cleveland ( he gave signs at Larry King Live)
2)Chris Bosh – Chicago ( they will trade Taj Gibson and Krik Hinrich to give space for their cap )
3)Dwyane Wade – Chicago ( *same reason* )
4)Ray Allen – Boston ( Doc Rivers’ trust him in clutch plays )
5)Shaquille O’Neal – Lakers ( it sounds crazy but I think he will do what Zo and Karl Malone did, lessen his pride and accept a low salary to win his 5th before he retires )
6)Tracy McGrady – New York ( NY saw some playoff potential when he arrived )
7) Amar’e Stoudemire – Phoenix ( come on !!! they reached the west finals )
Dirk Nowitzki – Dallas ( franchise player )
9) Derek Fisher -Lakers ( trusted by the team )
10) Rasheed Wallace – Celtics ( *same as Allen* )
Here’s my prediction….
1) LeBron James – Cleveland
Through all the hype surrounding him, there’s not a team that has the talent enough for LeBron to go somewhere else in his career, although the missing presence of a GM and a coach could sway the King to go somewhere else. Still, I have to think he staying.
2) Dwayne Wade – Miami
A high indication that he staying in Miami is when he say he going to start recruiting stars to come to Miami on July 1 (and the fact that Miami-Dade county is turning into Miami-Wade county for one week couldn’t hurt either).
3) Chris Bosh – Chicago
If the Lakers are willing to give up Andrew Bynum in a sign-and-trade, then I would put the Lakers as the favorite. Until then, I’m guessing for Chicago also, as I assume they will lose out on LeBron and go for the next star available.
4) Dirk Nowitzki – Dallas
Dirk is 32, so he doesn’t have a lot of playing years left in him to win his first title, but Mark Cuban has already lost Steve Nash a few years ago, so he’s not going to lose Dirk this time around.
5) Joe Johnson – New York
JJ wants to stay in the East Coast and the Knicks could be desperate enough to find a star player willing to sign with NY, so Johnson could be it.
6) Amare Stoudemire – New York
The departure of Steve Kerr as GM could be the "camel that broke the back" to where Amare goes. He has always admire his former head coach Mike D’Antoni and a reunion could be in the work if Mike want to vouch for him.
7) Carlos Boozer – Miami
Boozer has a offseason home in Miami, so it would be logical for him to play there with Wade, as he could have more success playing in the East.
Rudy Gay – Los Angeles Clippers
The Clips show has the money to sign a big FA with talent, but if they can’t miraculously lure the King to LA, then Gay is there next option.
9) David Lee – New Jersey
Lee would welcome a return to NY with a bigger money, but moving an hour away seem more realistic, as the new Nets owner needs to sign someone big to make his first impression in the NBA. He may not have the marquee name, but Lee is certainly one of the best up-and-coming players in the NBA right now.
10) Ray Allen – San Antonio
Allen has stated he would like to stay in Boston, but I would see the Spurs working hard to give Allen the veteran minimum of $5 million a year to be their starting SG. Boston is working hard to get younger and the Celtics had even try to trade Allen in the past. Also, the question of Doc Rivers future is in question, as he would like to leave the team to spend more time with his family in Orlando, so that would affects Allen decision on where he goes.
The rest of the FA you mention…
Shaquille O’ Neal – Miami
Coming back to Miami at the right price is not out of the question, as he would like to play with D-Wade once again and he like the city too, where he can start.
Derek Fisher – Los Angeles Lakers
It’s either the Lakers or retirement at this point in his career.
Rasheed Wallace – Boston
He’s not technically a FA, as he is owed $12 million the next two seasons. However, there are talks of him retiring from the game after he took a lesser role to win a title, which he fail to do.
